Featured Project: Southern Arizona Child and Family Center

Description
The Southern Arizona Child and Family Center is a collaborative effort to build a 25,000 square foot center that will provide the complete range of services to families in crisis. The Center will be modeled after centers in other communities that have already realized the benefits of co-locating various agencies involved in aiding victims and investigating acts of family violence. The primary goal is to minimize the trauma to victims, especially children, who must now travel from one location to another in order to receive medical assistance, report the crime, and provide investigators and prosecutors with necessary information.

Key Features

  • Co-locate agencies in one facility - Minimize trauma to victims
  • Streamline reporting and investigation
  • Strengthen prosecutors' cases

Partners
Tucson Police Department, City of Tucson Prosecutor's Office, Pima County Attorney's Office, Arizona Attorney General's Office, Arizona Child Protective Services, Brewster Center for Women and Children, Domestic Violence Advocacy Center, Arizona Public Service

Impact
The Southern Arizona Child and Family Center will reduce trauma to victims of family violence, will streamline investigations, and will help investigating agencies collaborate.
