Following a multi-state search, Accelr8 Technology Corporation

announced this morning that it is relocating to Tucson.  Acclelr8 is a

publically traded, bioscience company developing cutting edge diagnostic

technology.   Operating within the multi-billion dollar infectious

disease market, Accelr8 has future high-growth plans in Tucson.

 

The selection of Tucson by Accelr8 reflects the significant efforts by

the City of Tucson to become more welcoming to businesses.  Recently the

City has taken steps to streamline the process of doing business within

city limits, added an Economic Initiatives Section and created

incentives to encourage private sector development.

 

The City’s attention to economic growth by creating a single point of

contact for business and providing powerful new incentive tools is

already demonstrates the hard work being put into attracting new

businesses.

set out for my staff,” said City Manager Richard Miranda.  “It is

imperative that the City takes a leadership role in bringing economic

opportunity to Tucson. “With the recruitment of Accelr8, Tucson proves

that it can be a player in emerging fields like biotechnology which

bring high quality jobs to our community.”
