EL RIO THEATRE PROJECT PRESENTS FREE SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK
Tucson Parks and Recreation’s El Rio Theatre Project will present a series of 11 evening performances of Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors” to launch a third season of theater in the park.
Performances are scheduled for Sept. 17-20, Sept. 24-27 and Oct. 2-4 at the Himmel Park Outdoor Amphitheater, 1000 N. Tucson Blvd.
All performances are free to the public and begin at 7 p.m. Donations of $5 are suggested.
Attendees are encouraged to bring the family, a blanket and a picnic basket for an evening of theater in the park.
The popular comedy about mistaken identity is one of Shakespeare’s earliest plays and tells the story of two sets of identical twins separated at birth that are reunited by circumstance.
For information contact Michael Givens, El Rio Neighborhood Center recreation coordinator and director of the performances, at 791-4196.
