When you make your reservation you will be asked the type of activity (picnic, family reunion and company picnics) and number of attendees. If your activity is open to the public, you may be required to obtain liability insurance.

For parties of more than 200 people, a letter describing your activity is required. For more information about large activities, contact one of your reservation districts.

Payment Due Dates
Rental fees are due one week after the reservation is made. The City of Tucson accepts credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, DiscoverCard), checks or money orders payable to the City of Tucson, or cash. Checks/money orders may be mailed and must include the reservation number. If payment in full is not received by the due date, your reservation will be automatically cancelled to allow others the opportunity to reserve the facility.

Cancellations/Refunds
To receive a refund all cancellations must be made at least one (1) working day prior to the reservation date. All paperwork must be turned in. For beer permits, the actual permit must be returned to the Department prior to the event to receive a refund. No refunds will be issued after the reservation date.

City Resident/Non-City Resident Fees
When making your reservation you will be required to provide your address to confirm you are City of Tucson resident.

Different rates apply to City residents and non-City residents for many programs and services.

Rainouts
If your event is rained out, please contact one of our offices within five (5) working days to receive credit for the rainout and to reschedule your event.

No Glass Containers
For safety reasons, glass containers are prohibited in City parks.

Clean Up/Damages Responsibility
Damage and/or litter to park facilities may result in repair or cleaning charges and may jeopardize your right to make future reservations. Upon firming a reservation, a customer agrees to clean up the area of use at the conclusion of the event. Failure to clean up may result in a cleaning deposit for future use. Please help to keep our parks clean for other users!
 

Most ramadas are equipped with electricity, picnic tables, grills, nearby playground equipment, comfort stations and other amenities that will make any outing a delight.

• Parks and Recreation does not guarantee the availability of power due to overloading, malfunctions or vandalism.
• The Department provides picnic tables throughout the parks but cannot guarantee their replacement at specific ramadas, due to mobility of this equipment. Picnic tables in the park are available on a first come, first served basis.
• Barbecue grills are provided throughout the parks for your enjoyment. Open-pit fires are prohibited.

Full day: 8:00 am-7:30 pm

Payment Due Dates
Final payment is due one week after the reservation is made. For reservations made less than one week in advance, payment is due by the following business day by Noon.

Consumption of beer in a City park requires a permit issued to the responsible party for the event. Permits must be obtained in person at Parks and Recreation Administration or at one of our District Offices.

• You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase a permit.
• ID is required for the purchase of a beer permit.
• The permit covers a group of 100 people that will actually be drinking. Applicant will be responsible for ensuring that all members of his/her party are of legal age to consume beer according to Arizona State Law.
• Permit is valid only for the date and locations identified; it is not valid for the entire park.
• Consuming alcoholic beverages in parking lot areas or vehicles within the park is prohibited.
• Permit must be presented upon request to proper park or police officials.
• This permit is not an authorization to sell beer. The sale of alcoholic beverages in City parks is strictly prohibited without a special event liquor license issued by the State of Arizona.
• Wine and liquor are prohibited in City parks
• For safety reasons, glass containers are prohibited in City parks. This includes beer containers when a Beer Permit is obtained.

Beer Permit Fees

Inflatables and kiddie trains are permitted in City parks. The rules for use are:

• When you make your reservation, you must provide the name of the company that you intend to use for your activity. Use of this type of equipment must be noted on your rental contract.
• The equipment provider must be a company that is approved by the City of Tucson. Ask for a list of approved vendors when you make your reservation. Please note – due to safety reasons, if a vendor does not have an approved permit in their possession when inspected by a City of Tucson official, you will be required to terminate that portion of your activity.
• In many cases the vendor is required to have a staff person onsite to monitor their equipment. Check with the vendor – they know if they are required to have staff onsite. Failure of the vendor to properly staff their equipment may result in termination of that portion of your activity.
• If the equipment vendor is not required to be onsite, be sure to get a copy of the vendor's valid permit and keep it in your possession during your event.
• Vendors are PROHIBITED from using park electricity for their equipment. Vendors MUST provide a generator when setting up jumping castles in a City park. No refunds will be granted due to the absence of electricity.
• Vendor will provide a valid insurance certificate with General Commercial Liability in the amount of $1 mill per occurrence, naming the City of Tucson, Parks and Recreation Department as additional insured.
• Vendor will indemnify and hold harmless the City of Tucson from any litigation or lawsuits related to the use of their inflatable/kiddie train equipment due to negligence.
• endors must call Blue Stake (1800-STAKE-IT) when setting up jumping castles.
• Vehicles loading or unloading inflatables or kiddie train equipment are not permitted to be on the grass, so as not to damage irrigation systems and turf.
• Other restrictions may apply.
• Vendor or personnel are not allowed to solicit park patrons to use their jumping castle for a fee.
• Vendor permit will be revoked if the permitee receives two violations.
• Kiddie Trains are no longer allowed in Reid Park.
• The list below are the items that are not allowed in city parks; castles that require water, slip and slides, water balloons, dunk tanks, sumo wrestling equipment, go-karts track, aero trim, gladiator joust, water tag, heavyweight “mondo” boxing, bungee run, fire engine, balloon typhoon, air kastle rides, and carnival rides/games and no slides over 26 ft high and the velcro wall.
• Personally owned inflatables are not permitted in City parks.

Inflatables and Kiddie Trains Permit Fee: $150 (for three months)

Quarterly Vendor Permits are in a Lottery System.

Fees are:

Lottery is held at Parks and Recreation Department Administration Office, 900 S. Randolph Way; during business hours, Monday at 8:30 am.
Vendor permits are issued quarterly, held the last Monday in March, June, September, and December.

• Before a Parks’ Vendor Permit is issued for the sale of food and/or refreshments (EXCLUDING alcoholic beverages), a current Pima County Health Permit and a Business License must be presented at our office. Vendors must have in their possession both of these documents at all times while on park property. NOTE: The quarterly vendor permit is not valid during special events held in any City park.

• Will provide a valid insurance certificate with General Commercial Liability in the amount of $1 million per occurrence, naming the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department as additional insured.

• Vendor units must be self-contained or push cart in nature. All vehicular or trailer units must remain in the parking lots and are not to be parked on the grass.

Special Event Vendor Permits are issued for a specific park in conjunction with a special event.

Vendor Permit Fees - per vendor, per day:

• Vendors’ applying for a non-profit fee a 501-(C)(3) From must be presented to Parks and Recreation Department.

• A list of vendors must be submitted by the special event organizer to Parks and Recreation Department at least two weeks before the event date.
• Before a Parks’ Vendor Permit is issued for the sale of food and/or refreshments (EXCLUDING alcoholic beverages), a current Pima County Health Permit and a Business License must be presented at our office. Vendors must have in their possession both of these documents at all times while on park property.
• Will provide a valid insurance certificate with General Commercial Liability in the amount of $1 million per occurrence, naming the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department as additional insured.
• Vendor units must be self-contained or push cart in nature. All vehicular or trailer units must remain in the parking lots and are not to be parked on the grass.
• All permits fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

• Music must be kept at a reasonable level to avoid disturbance to other park users and nearby residents. 

• All music must conclude by sundown (6:00 pm in Reid Park) unless otherwise approved in writing by the Director or a District Administrator.

• Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in loss of amplified music privileges.

• Park hours must be observed as posted.

A wide variety of ballfields and play courts are available in parks throughout the community. Many have lighting to accommodate evening use. Visit the Parks/Rec Facilities section or contact one of our offices for more information.

Fees vary according to the facility. You can learn about facility use fees prior to making your reservation by visiting the Rates and Fees section.

When reserving a ramada, ballfield, or court, you must indicate the type of activity proposed to occur at the facility. If an activity is open to the public, proof of liability insurance may be required.

The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department has a variety of facilities that can comfortably accommodate picnics, parties and weddings.

• A variety of ramadas are available for reservations throughout the City offering ample outdoor space for family picnics and parties.

• Meeting/conference rooms of varying size, many with kitchen facilities, can accommodate indoor wedding receptions and parties.

• Our golf course clubhouses are also available for celebrations; these facilities offer full-service catering and refreshments.

Udall Amphitheater, Eastside, 7200 E. Tanque Verde Rd. (85715), 520-791-5930
The amphitheater has a cement stage approximately 2 feet above the grass lawn that provides comfort for guests. The amphitheater has power and lights. If you are looking for a memorable and pleasant outdoor site full of green grass and trees, the Udall Amphitheater is the place to go.

Ft. Lowell Park Ramada 7, Eastside, 2900 N. Craycroft Rd. (85712), 520-791-5930
Ramada 7 has two tables, a BBQ area, power and lights. The ramada is very secluded. A stream runs nearby for great photo opportunities. Because the surrounding area is primarily dirt, most customers use Ramada 7 for a “southwestern” style wedding.

Terra del Sol Park, Eastside, 6700 E. Calle Marte (85710), 520-791-5930
Terra del Sol Park has a gazebo, one ramada and a playground. Most customers reserve the gazebo as well as the adjacent ramada to cut down on the volume of other park users. The ramada has three tables, and both the ramada and the gazebo have power and lights. Keep in mind that there are no restroom facilities at Tierra del Sol. If you are looking for a very green park that has newer facilities and is nestled away from traffic, Tierra del Sol is just for you.

Rose Garden, Central Tucson, 22nd St. and Country Club Rd. (85711), 520-791-4873, Ext. 0
The beautiful and colorful Rose Garden is located centrally located in Reid Park. The garden has a large gazebo with power and is surrounded by 101 species of roses and more than 800 individual plants. The roses and plants typically bloom in the spring (March, April) and the fall (September, October). This are is one of our most popular wedding sites.

Reid Park Lake Area, Central Tucson, 22nd St. and Country Club Rd. (85711), 791-4873 Ext. 0
Reid Park, the City's most centrally located park, features a large lake and small pond with abundant grass and trees. The pond area in Reid Park is around the waterfall. There is no covered structure at the lake area, but you may reserve a nearby ramada.

 El Tiradito, Downtown area, 400 S. Main Ave. (85701), 520-791-4873 Ext. 0
Also called the Wishing Shrine, El Tiradito is a small site on dirt grounds containing a shrine dedicated to star-crossed lovers. There is an adobe wall with niches where people place small mandas (promises) or prayers for successful ventures. The shrine holds a votive candle stand. There is a drinking fountain. El Tiradito is the site of small weddings and is frequently used for candlelight ceremonies. It is on the Historic Register and is a unique part of the history and legend of Tucson.

Garden of Gethsemane, Westside, 602 W. Congress Ave. (85745), 520-791-4873 Ext. 0
Located next to the Santa Cruz River on West Congress Street, this peaceful garden was created to house the religious sculptures of artist Felix Lucero. A path with potted plants and greenery winds through the small park and passes hand-sculpted images of Christ at the Last Supper, the Holy Family and the Crucifixion. The garden is popular for weddings, quinceañeras and small parties. The garden is lit and has electrical outlets, a water fountain, and a kneeling bench. Alcohol is not permitted. Access keys are required, with a refundable key deposit and maintenance deposit.

La Placita, Downtown, 119 W. Broadway Blvd. (85701), 520-791-4873, Ext. 0
Located near the original San Augustin Church, La Placita contains a gazebo that dates back to the 1800s. This picturesque, historic gazebo has an adjacent grass area and is a very popular downtown location for weddings, reunions, receptions and other small gatherings. The gazebo is located near the La Placita shops, the Metropolitan Tucson Convention and Visitors' Bureau, the Tucson Convention Center and a hotel. An access key is required, with a refundable key deposit and maintenance deposit.

El Presidio Park, Downtown, 160 W. Alameda St. (85701), 520-791-4873, Ext. 0
Located downtown between City Hall and the Old County Courthouse, this large, paved plaza contains veterans' memorials, small rose garden area, large fountain, various art pieces including the Mormon Battalion, the El Soldado Cuero (a statue to a Conquistador) and several pieces of modern art. El Presidio Park is a favorite location for many community festivals, political gatherings and weddings.

Kennedy Park Fiesta Area, Southwest, Ajo Way and Mission Road (85713), 520-791-5909
This site features a grassy amphitheater surrounded by a stage and 18 permanent vendor booths. The venue has a capacity for 7,500, with ample parking for large events.

“A” Mountain, Westside, 1000 S. Sentinel Peak Rd. (85745), 520-791-5909
This site provides an expansive view of the Tucson valley. A gazebo is located on the west side of the mountains. There are picnic tables and grills nearby.

Reid Park Zoo, Central Tucson, 22nd St. and Randolph Way (85711),520-791-3204
The entire Zoo, with its lush grounds and meandering pathways, is available for rental after the Zoo closes to the public. You and your guests can enjoy a casual picnic, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at sunset, a buffet dinner or something more formal. The Zoo can provide complete catering services, or make your own arrangements for food, tables, chair, linens and entertainment. Zoo rentals are coordinated through the Tucson Zoological Society, 520-881-4753, Ext. 14. 

Lincoln Park Children’s Outdoor Performance Area (COPA)

• The shaded playground area has a fall zone with a combination of wood chips and rubberized coating.
• The amphitheater has a stage measuring 40-feet deep and 52-feet wide.
• Part of the stage amperage is available through 16,20A receptacles.
• There is 300 amperage capabilities and 120/208V 3-phase spare capacity.
• Not designed for large scale concerts.
• Rental times are from 10:00 am - 10:00 pm
