What is Blue Chip The Arizona Blue Chip Program is a 4 year co-curricular leadership education experience designed to help students gain self-awareness and an awareness of the world around them INTEGRITY EXCELLENCE SERVICE DIVERSITY Blue Chip’s Mission

PHASES § Phase I: Engage § Phase II: Learn § Phase III: Practice § Phase IV: Lead INTEGRITY EXCELLENCE SERVICE DIVERSITY Thematic Leadership
Thematic Leadership § Arts Theme- focuses on self-awareness, open-mindedness, creativity, and vision through the arts as a form of leadership development. § Global Theme- focuses on understanding, appreciating, and advocating for ALL people of ALL cultures. § Social Entrepreneurial Theme- Using business principals for social causes. INTEGRITY EXCELLENCE SERVICE DIVERSITY Thematic Leadership
Thematic Leadership Service Theme- focuses on understanding and contributing to the local and global community through service initiatives and social change activities Eco Theme- focuses on appreciating and relishing in the natural environment and learning leadership skills through synchronicity with nature and the outdoors. Partnerships § Pima Residence Hall- Blue Chip Living Learning Community § University of Wollongong Black Opal Leadership Exchange- Australia § Pima Leadership Institute § Paradise Valley PEAK Leadership Transfer Program § Community Partners- OARP, Girl Scouts, Nature Conservancy, Pima County Community Justice Boards, Arizona Academy for Leadership INTEGRITY EXCELLENCE SERVICE DIVERSITY PHASE II
PHASE II § Purpose- to help create current change with residents during the revitalization plan § OARP will formulate case study questions § Teams of 3-4 will research and propose possible solutions to the questions § Students will be trained by OARP staff and work closely with residents to learn about community issues and its assets § Case Competition will take place on April 24th INTEGRITY EXCELLENCE SERVICE DIVERSITY PHASE IV ART’S
PHASE IV ART’S § Goal: To collect a written and visual representation of the Oracle Area’s oral history § Projects § Develop a video of current memories and oral history from past and present residence § Design and distribute poster’s displaying oral history § Plan and have an event to reveal project and celebrate the history of the Oracle Area INTEGRITY EXCELLENCE SERVICE DIVERSITY Slide 10
§ Video- Project will start at the TPAC events on Nov. 8th and 9th § Posters- to be put along streets, at bus stops, and restaurants § Event- 50’s sock hop event next semester INTEGRITY EXCELLENCE SERVICE DIVERSITY Thank you!
