What is ARRA?
ARRA is the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, signed into law on February 17, 2009, by President Barack Obama. ARRA is intended to provide a stimulant to the U.S. economy following the major economic downturn.

Who can use ARRA funds?
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds have been awarded at federal, state, and local levels. Federal agencies, local municipalities, the private sector, non-profit organizations, and educational and health institutions are among the many that have received this funding.

How much ARRA funding has Tucson received?
City staff has pursued all possible grants and awards available through ARRA. Stimulus dollars awarded to Tucson have been used for energy-efficient buildings, purchase of foreclosed homes for rehabilitation, transportation and sustainable infrastructure projects, and more. This has also helped create new jobs and retain existing ones. Click on "Funds Awarded" at upper right for total stimulus funds awarded to Tucson and the use of the funding. How do I know ARRA funding will be spent wisely?
Mayor and Council and City staff are committed to ensuring that stimulus tax dollars are hard at work to jumpstart Tucson's economy, create and save jobs, and protect residents' quality of life. This website was developed to maintain accountability and transparency, as well as to keep residents up to date and informed on ARRA projects and opportunities.
