Southern Arizona Paving, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) is continuing the Fog Seal portion of the 2013 Pavement Preservation Program. The work consists of crack sealing and patching where needed, and applying a Tire Rubber Modified Surface Seal (TRMSS) and new striping. This application will extend the life of the pavement another three years.
Crews will be working 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Sun Link Tucson Streetcar team is working closely with its contractor to make sure motorists traveling in the downtown area are able to reach their destinations safely and with as little delay as possible. We appreciate the public’s support and patience as we work to complete the rail installation along a difficult portion of the streetcar line.

Beginning Saturday, January 12, 2013, the intersections at Stone Avenue and Congress Street and Church Avenue and Congress Street will be closed. These closures are necessary to complete the installation of a water line, sewer line, electrical, curb, pole foundations, grading for track and rail installation. Work will also include the final paving of the roadway. This work is expected to be completed by late January. “The project team is excited to complete this stretch of work along Congress Street,” said Sun Link project manager Jesse Gutierrez.
On Monday, January 7, 2013, at approximately 7 p.m., the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Hunter Contracting will temporarily shift traffic to the east side of Houghton Road from just north of Valencia Road to Drexel Road.
This shift will also include the removal of the following dedicated right turn lanes:
On Monday, December 10, 2012, the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Hunter Contracting Co. will start bringing fill dirt from the Vulcan materials plant east of Houghton Road, off Poorman Road to the east side of Houghton Road from Irvington to Valencia. A flagger will be directing traffic; drivers will be directed to “Be prepared to stop.” The Contractor will avoid hauling dirt during peak travel times. This work will last three weeks.
This is a series of traffic alerts that will be issued throughout the construction of a portion of Downtown Links - the St. Mary’s Road/Sixth Street, I-10 to Church Avenue Improvement project. These alerts will announce construction, detour and street closure information as it affects traffic.
Beginning at 5 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 through 5 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2012, St. Mary’s Road will be closed to thru traffic between the westbound I-10 frontage road and Granada Avenue.
