Biography |
|
Karin serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Economic Integrity, a non-profit research and advocacy organization. The Center strengthens local economies by fighting predatory industries (like payday lending) and developing enterprises that uplift underserved areas. |
|
Karin has lived in Ward 3 since 2000 and within the City of Tucson since 1993. Before moving to Tucson she served as a Congressional Aide to U.S. Representative Howard Wolpe (D-MI) and as the statewide Executive Director of the Food Bank Council of Michigan. She is a graduate of Michigan State University. |

In Tucson, Karin served as the Executive Director of Primavera Services (Primavera Foundation) for nine years, an affordable housing, job training and homeless services agency with an annual budget of $2 million and a staff of 50 people. |
|
Karin has also served on the Tucson Mayor/Council Budget Advisory Committee (1994-1997; Chair 1996), the Mayor/Council Bond Oversight Committee (1997-2003), and the Mayor/Council Blue Ribbon Charter Advisory Committee (2000). |
|
She has served on the Boards of Directors of the Community Food Bank, the Brewster Center Against Domestic Violence, and the North American Alliance for Fair Employment. In 2002 Karin served as an NGO Delegate to the United Nations International Labor Organization in Geneva. |
