Distribution System Sampling Location Map
Tucson Water monitors the quality of the water delivered to customers at hundreds of locations throughout the water service area. In addition to testing at more than 175 drinking water wells, the utility operates more than 200 monitoring wells which can be used to draw water quality samples from the groundwater.
Tucson Water also has installed more than 250 monitoring points which are used to sample for chlorine, microbiological purity, and other water quality parameters. These dedicated sample taps are covered to protect them from birds, insects, dirt, and other sources of outside contamination. The locations of these sample stations were selected to ensure the water samples collected are representative of the entire water distribution system. Water quality samples are collected from each station at least once each month. The locations of these dedicated sampling stations are given on the Distribution System Sampling Location Map.
