Planning Commission study session on commercial parking changes February 2

Planning Commission will hold a study session on Wednesday, February 2 on the proposed commercial parking text amendment to require new commercial and multifamily development to be EV-ready and expand eligibility for the Individual Parking Plan to affordable housing developments, restaurants and bars.

Last year, we had a situation with a well site in the Palo Verde Park neighborhood. It was basically an empty piece of hardscape that was an invitation to illegal dumping. The fact that it was hard-packed earth also meant that rain would run off of it and damage people’s property. Still, the neighbors wanted it to remain open. They had used it as a dog run for years and wanted to keep it that way. 

Traffic Alert - 29th Street and Alvernon



On Thursday, January 13, 2022, crews from Next Generation Electrical, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), are scheduled to convert the traffic signal heads to include flashing yellow arrows at the 29th Street and Alvernon Way intersection.

Church Avenue Closure Traffic Alert

On Tuesday, January 11, 2022, Church Avenue between Jackson Street and Cushing Street will be closed to motor vehicle travel while crews stage a crane and remove the chiller, currently in place for the Tucson Holiday Ice Rink.

The closure is scheduled to be in place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the same day. During this work, motorists traveling northbound and southbound may use Granada Avenue or Stone Avenue as an alternate route.
