Paul's Note - February 25, 2022

This is Rodeo Week in Tucson, a long standing sporting event in our community. This week, we saw another long-standing sports event which involves fifth, sixth and seventh grade athletes. 

Roskruge classic is a 39 year tradition in Tucson. It is a middle school basketball tournament that is free to all kids who participate. 

Cool Pavement Project - Country Club Road - Crack Seal

On Saturday, February 26, 2022, Choice Maintenance and Asphalt Services, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), is scheduled to crack seal Country Club Road from Broadway to Aviation Parkway as part of a cool pavement pilot project. This work is scheduled to take place between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day and be completed by Sunday, February 27. Crews recently applied the PlusTi™ asphalt rejuvenator treatment in December 2021.

Crack Seal/Fog Seal Work - Prop 101 Tucson Delivers

Crews from VSS International, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), are scheduled to begin crack seal work on various roadway segments throughout the City. The roadway improvements are associated with the voter-approved Prop 101 Tucson Delivers Better Streets Program.

During the two-month-long crack seal roadway improvement project, work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The dates and locations where the improvements will take place in the first two weeks of the program are:

Paul's Note - February 18th, 2022

When I was growing up, my friends and I would stop by a store near the neighborhood for sodas and snacks. It was run by a Holocaust survivor named Walter Feiger. 

Mr. Feiger was imprisoned at several labor and concentration camps in Poland during World War II before he was liberated by Soviet troops. His travels landed him in Tucson in 1970. He loved it here. He often said that Moses picked the wrong desert.

TRAFFIC ALERT

TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
22ND STREET AND SWAN ROAD INTERSECTION

On Thursday, February 17, 2022, crews from Next Generation Electrical, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM), are scheduled to convert the traffic signal heads to include flashing yellow arrows at the 22nd Street and Swan Road intersection.
