Vice Mayor Nikki Lee Hosts Arbor Day Tree-Planting Celebration

Tucson, AZ—The office of Vice Mayor Nikki Lee is partnering with Tucson Clean & Beautiful, Trees for Tucson, and Tucson Parks and Recreation to host “Planting for the Future,” an Arbor Day celebration, on Friday, April 30 at Lincoln Regional Park (8123 E. Poinciana, Tucson, Arizona 85730). The event will begin at 9:00 AM and participants will meet at the Children's Outdoor Performance Area (COPA).

Vice Mayor Lee will be joined by special guests Mayor Regina Romero and Executive Director of Tucson Clean & Beautiful, Katie Gannon. Sponsors include Hamstra Heating & Cooling, Chapman Automotive Group, Circle K - Grand Canyon Division, and Kinder Morgan.

“Planting for the Future” will contribute to the Tucson Million Trees Initiative, which aims to plant 1 million trees by 2030 to help mitigate the effects of climate change. Planting and maintaining desert trees provides many benefits, including lower energy costs, decreased irrigation needs, erosion prevention, and reduced CO2 emissions. Event participants will help plant 50 new trees to celebrate new life and growth in honor of Arbor Day.

This event is family-friendly and all members of the community are welcome to attend. Masks will be required. Visit to RSVP
