In May 2017, Tucson voters approved Proposition 101 (Tucson Delivers), a five-year, half-cent transaction sales tax to fund street improvements (Better Streets) and public safety investments (Safer City). Two separate citizens' commissions (the Bond Oversight Commission and the Public Safety Tax Oversight Commission) provide oversight of Tucson Delivers sales tax collection and expenditures.
