Adaptive Reuse Program in Place for Older Buildings in Tucson

The City of Tucson's Adaptive Reuse Pilot Program encourages reinvestment throughout the City by repurposing existing buildings. Launched in 2017, the program draws on supporting research (“Older, Smaller, Better in Tucson”) and successful programs in other cities, particularly Phoenix’s Adaptive Reuse Program, to provide a suite of incentives and code relief tools for the reuse of existing buildings in Tucson.

There is an Adaptive Reuse Toolkit available, which can be used to help in the process of converting an existing building to accommodate a new use.
