Bighorn Fire Surpasses 107,000 Acres and Heavy Winds Are Expected Today

The lightning-caused Bighorn Fire in the Coronado National Forest has grown to 107,099 acres (168 square miles) and is 45 percent contained.

Today's firefighting efforts are expected to be challenging since there's a Red Flag Warning in effect, with wind speeds of up to 30 mph possible. There are nearly 1,100 people assigned to the fire.
