The Mayor and Tucson City Council Tuesday night approved a new lease agreement with the Tucson Airport Authority (TAA). Mayor Jonathan Rothschild highlighted several important components of the new lease, including TAA's agreement to invest in infrastructure for revenue-producing projects to attract manufacturers and distributors. The new agreement also provides a safety buffer for Raytheon at no cost to the City, a move that satisfies part of the 2009 annexation agreement with the company. Additionally, all new and renewing tenants will have to agree to a clause to be annexed, leading to increased tax revenue for Tucson.
