Domestic Violence Grant Awarded to Tucson City Court

Tucson City Court recently was awarded a three-year, $549,000 Justice for Families Grant from the Department of Justice, Office of Violence Against Women. The grant will continue to support the specialized Domestic Violence Court calendar, which has provided victims of domestic violence access to Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse advocates and services for more than 4,000 victims of domestic violence, along with more accountability and supervision for domestic violence offenders.

The grant will continue the Court’s efforts to provide more access to advocates and services for deaf victims of domestic violence and offer outreach and education about domestic violence to Tucson’s deaf community.

A new facet of the grant focuses on helping victims of domestic violence access mental health resources, and the Court will be partnering with COPE Community Services.
