Grammy Award Winner Bobby McFerrin to Perform at Tucson Jazz Festival This Month

The Fifth Annual HSL Properties Tucson Jazz Festival, which will run between Jan. 11-21, will feature 10-time Grammy Award winner Bobby McFerrin at the Fox Tucson Theatre on Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. His "Don't Worry, Be Happy" song was a No. 1 U.S. pop hit in 1988 and won Song of the Year honors at the 1989 Grammy Awards.

Other performers at the Tucson Jazz Festival will include Joey Alexander; the Tucson Jazz Institute Ellington Band with special guest Terell Stafford; Asleep at the Wheel; Trombone Shorty; Pink Martini and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra; Special EXF Allstars with guests Regina Carter and Eric Marienthal; Tucson Swings Brightly: The Music of Nelson Riddle featuring Ann Hampton Callaway; and an all-women double bill with the Magos Herrera Quartet and Jane Bunnett & Maqueque.  

The festival culminates with the free daylong Downtown Jazz Fiesta on multiple stages downtown on Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 21. That event runs from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
