Great Backyard Bird Count This Month

The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations around the world. This year's GBBC takes place Friday through Monday, Feb. 14-17.

Participants are asked to count birds for at least 15 minutes (or longer) on one or more days of the event, then create a free GBBC account on the official website and enter their observations.

In 2019, 160,000 participants in more than 100 countries counted more than 6,800 species of birds. You can also share your photos by entering a contest.
