Ward 4 Council Member Nikki Lee Coordinates with Raytheon to Help Youth On Their Own Students

Students without access to a computer recently shared how difficult it has been to participate in online learning opportunities with their class while schools have been closed. With Councilwoman Nikki Lee’s coordination with Raytheon, 30 laptops, computer mice, and backpacks have been donated to Youth On Their Own (YOTO) for students to have the opportunity to complete the school year.

YOTO is a dropout-prevention program that supports high school graduation and continued success of homeless, unaccompanied youth in Pima County. Lee started organizing the Annual Shirley Scott Ward 4 Back to School Bash, which ultimately had to be put on hold this year when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, so she had to quickly focus her attention on keeping kids in school.
