The City of Tucson will launch an all-new permitting system, Tucson Development Center Online (TDC Online), on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022. TDC Online replaces the current system, which has been in use since 1999.
The new permitting system is a partnership between Planning & Development Services, Tucson Fire, Tucson Water, Transportation and Mobility, and Code Enforcement. TDC Online will feature a self-service portal that provides customers with an entirely online process.
“For the first time, five City departments will be utilizing the same permit system with integrated business processes,” said Timothy Thomure, Assistant City Manager and Planning and Development Services Interim Director. “TDC Online will eliminate manual processes, increase interdepartmental collaboration, and provide in-depth reporting capabilities.”
TDC Online will provide customers transparency throughout the permitting process with email notifications and a personal dashboard to track applications from submittal to issuance. Customers can also make real-time payments, schedule inspections, and create templates for frequently used applications.
Customers will be asked to create a new online account to use TDC Online. The account will be used to submit permit applications, schedule inspections, and use the personal dashboard tracking features.
“Tucson values the flexible reporting tools that will enable employees to analyze business performance, allowing staff to work more proactively,” said Thomure.
TDC Online will be available to customers at 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022.
