“A” Mountain Fireworks Celebration Road Closures

The 23rd Annual “A” Mountain Fireworks Celebration sponsored by Desert Diamond Casino and Entertainment will start at approximately 9:15 p.m., Thursday, July 4.

"It's been inspiring to see how Desert Diamond Casino continues to sponsor Tucson's Fourth of July celebrations year after year," said Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild. "Thanks to their generous and patriotic support, we have a fireworks display for all to enjoy."

Residents may enjoy the “A” Mountain Fireworks Celebration with free parking at the Tucson Convention Center’s (TCC) Parking Lot B (off Cushing Street between Granada and Church avenues) or Parking Lot C (off Granada between Broadway Boulevard and Cushing Street).

Free parking will also be available all day Thursday at the City/State garage and at meters throughout the downtown area. Please Note: Tailgating activities, including cooking and barbecuing, are not permitted in the City/State Garage.

Paid parking will be available for $5 in the Mercado District lots (south of Congress Street off of Avenida del Convento and Linda Avenue).

Important Sun Link, traffic, and road closure information:
The Sun Link streetcar provides convenient access to the TCC at the Cushing Street stops. Parking will be available at the TCC and throughout downtown. The last streetcars will leave the Avenida del Convento and Helen Street stops at 11 p.m.

Beginning at 5 p.m. on July 4:
- Mission Road will be closed from Starr Pass Boulevard to Congress Street. Mission Road will reopen approximately one hour following the completion of the fireworks show.
- The eastbound I-10 exit ramps at Congress Street and at Starr Pass Boulevard/22nd Street and the westbound I-10 exit ramp at Congress Street will be closed from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. to ease congestion. See the attached map for road closures related to this event.
- In order to accommodate the fireworks display, there will be restricted access to Sentinel Peak Park. Sentinel Peak Road will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, and will reopen to all traffic Friday, July 5, at 9 a.m.
