Special Projects Section

The Special Projects Section supports the Livable Tucson goals by providing a response to two growing community problems: traffic congestion and air pollution.

The Special Projects Section is responsible for planning and implementing programs and facilities that encourage citizens to use alternate modes of transportation: walking, biking, public transportation, or RideShare, or combining two or more alternate modes.

The Section is engaged in short-range and long-range transit planning (Sun Tran and complementary ADA Paratransit Service, SunVan), bicycle and pedestrian planning, and intermodal planning.  Examples of this section's work includes corridor studies, intermodal facilities design, Transit Service Options Project, and the Short Range Transportation Plan (SRTP).
