We are giving Ward 2 residents a chance to hear an update from Chief Ryan about your Tucson Fire Department. Time for questions and comments will be included, light refreshments will be served.
The meet-and-greet will be at my office at 7575 E Speedway on Wednesday, October 26th from 5:30 to 6:30.
And speaking of the fire department, my office has gotten a few calls about Fire Station #21 on Tanque Verde. The callers thought that the station had been either closed or opened for limited hours. My office contacted Chief Ryan and he assured me that this was incorrect. The station is fully staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

You may remember a couple of months ago I mentioned that my office is planning on hosting the City of Tucson’s first Disability Pride Day celebration. Chris. Desborough in my office has been working with several non-profits in our community to put this event together.
Disability Pride events have been held in cities like Boston, New York and San Antonio.
Our city’s celebration will be held on Saturday, December 3rd at Udall Park and coincides with the United Nations designated International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
This event seeks to promote and celebrate the immense talent, skills, and expertise that exists within this often marginalized and underrepresented group and will feature performances by individuals with disabilities, accessible and inclusive activities for families, informational sessions on various aspects of the Americans with Disabilities Act and a resource fair for families and community members to explore.
I will be giving you reminders and more details as we get closer to the event, however if you have any questions or would like further information, please contact my office and speak with Chris.
