During the shutdown of the federal government due to the lapse of appropriations, national parks will remain as accessible as possible while still following all applicable laws and procedures. Park roads and trails at Saguaro National Park will remain accessible to visitors, but emergency and rescue services will be limited.
There will be no NPS-provided visitor services at Saguaro National Park, including public information, restrooms, trash collection, and facilities or roads maintenance. Both Visitor Centers are closed.
Because of the federal government shutdown, all park programs have been canceled, including tonight’s Moonrise over the Mountains Music program in the park’s Tucson Mountain District (west) and the Night Hike in the Rincon Mountain District (east), as well as all other programs scheduled for this weekend in both districts. Programs scheduled into next week, including the Annual Holiday Caravan program on December 27 are tentatively cancelled unless funding is provided and normal park operations are able to resume.
NPS social media and websites are not being monitored or updated and may not reflect current conditions.
