TUCSON - Tucson Ward 5 Councilmember applauds Arizona District 2 Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick, who lead a successful effort to get 10,000 disaster blankets for our most needy, vulnerable and homeless population in Tucson and Pima County,

Ward 5 Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule

Ward 5 Councilmember Richard Fimbres and his staff, hope you have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

Please practice social distancing, washing your hands frequently and if out and about, to wear a mask.

Also, Councilmember Fimbres reminds everyone to please don't drink and drive.

The Ward 5 Council Office will be closed Thursday, November 26, for the Thanksgiving Holiday and the office will also be closed Friday, November 27.

The Ward 5 Council Office will reopen Monday, November 30.

 

Buffalo Soldiers Memorial Ground Breaking - October 29

CITY OF TUCSON TO BREAK GROUND ON THE BUFFALO SOLDIER MEMORIAL ON THURSDAY, OCT 29

City of Tucson Ward 5 Council Member Richard Fimbres, the Greater Southern Arizona Area Chapter (GSAAC) of the Buffalo Soldiers, and Tucson Parks and Recreation will break ground on a memorial honoring the contributions of Black Americans when settling in Southern Arizona. The memorial is funded through donations to the GSAAC of the Buffalo Soldiers and funds from Tucson Delivers Parks + Connections, a 2018 voter-approved bond program..

Ward 5 Council Office Labor Day Hours

The Ward 5 Council Office will be closed Monday, September 7 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.

The Ward 5 Council Office will resume operations Tuesday, September 8 at 8 am.

With the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Ward 5 Council Office, along with other City offices, are closed to public access.

Ward 5 COVID 19 Update

 

With the COVID 19 pandemic, the Ward 5 Council Office will be closed for public access and for public meetings for the foreseeable future.  In order for the safety of the Ward 5 Council Office staff they will be working online.  They will continue to monitor emails and phone messages and can be reached at (520) 791-4231 or ward5@tucsonaz.gov  Thank you and be safe and be healthy.

Ward 5 Holiday Schedule

Councilmember Richard Fimbres and his staff: Mark Kerr, Lupita Robles, Mary Kuchar and Gabriel Holguin want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa and Holiday season.

 

The Ward 5 Council Office, will be closed Wednesday, December 25 (Christmas Day) and Thursday, December 26. The Ward 5 office will reopen on Friday, December 27.

July 4th

Councilmember Richard Fimbres and his staff want to wish everyone and their families a happy and safe Fourth of July. Also a reminder to keep your pets safe from potential Fourth of July activities. 

 

It is important during these times, to be mindful of the heat, careful using fireworks and please don’t drink and drive. If you choose to drink, please designate a driver, call a cab, use Uber or Lyft.

 

Also, if you are out and its raining, don’t drive through washes or flooded roads. Arizona has its stupid motorist law and it is strictly enforced.

 

DEDICATION CEREMONY NEW PEDESTRIAN CROSSING AT SUNNYSIDE HIGH SCHOOL

Vice-Mayor Richard Fimbres and the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) unveiled a new pedestrian crossing on Bilby Road, just west of Campbell Avenue at Sunnyside High School on Tuesday, January 15 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

 

The new safety device is a pedestrian activated Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) intended to increase the visibility of uncontrolled marked crosswalks.
